Today was an amazing day of blessing and encouragement for Marilyn and me. We started the day at Compassion chapel services. Several of our church family flew out to Colorado Springs to be with us. Scott Limerick, Veresa Myers, Greg Frady and Emily Hollingsworth joined the worship team.

Day 22

Today was to be a short ride of 38 miles from Castle Rock, Colorado to Compassion headquarters in Colorado Springs. My route took me through some beautiful Colorado ranch country with a steady climb for most of the mileage.

Day 17

Day 17 September 24, 2015 Today was a leisurely day starting my ride at 9:00 am from Laramie. The total mileage to Fort Collins is only 67 miles with a slow climb out of Laramie then a long, slow descent to Fort Collins. The weather was clear and warm. We enjoyed the company of Sam, Eryn and Susan from Compassion today. They accompanied us from the Colorado state line into Fort Collins. It was fun having them along to document a bit of the ride for social media. I arrived into Fort Collins just after 3:00 and was greeted by Robert. It was so good to see him and give him a big hug. As I told him, the closer I got to Fort Collins the faster I rode. This completes stage three and we will enjoy three full days of rest before moving on.

Today turned out to be the longest day of our journey so far but also one of the most spectacular for scenery.

Today was scheduled to be the longest day and one of the toughest. It did not disappoint! I began riding before the sun was up to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and still air. By 8:15 the wind picked up and I battled a head wind the rest of the day.

Today’s ride was one of the most spectacular and scenic days. I left Jackson just as it was getting light heading north up the Jackson Hole valley watching the sun come up over the Wind River Range to light up the Grand Teton.
